Journaling, Planning, Living … Creatively

Windows of Sky

The past several weeks have been like patches of boundless sky! This photo captures the way I see the progress I have made:

window of opportunity

It has been liberating to participate {even if ever-so-slowly} with creative groups. To allow myself to collage, doodle, write and paint as I ponder the designs and ideas and plans I have in my mind’s eye.

Although I {feel} as though I am in baby-step mode — when I allow myself the time to review my journal notes, I see large steps. And … Even some occasional leaps!

Saturating my days with {creative refreshings} has been extremely powerful — fueling my progress! Sources such as twitter friends and Jennifer Lee ( this post by Jennifer!) and Jamie Ridler and examples of monthly planning, such as artsafire post.

creative doubt

This morning, reading {the always fabulous} @leah_art‘s enlightening post regarding surviving creative self-doubt as well as affirming my own practice of {power hours; accountability} … and 8 other Ways To Give Yourself A Procrastination Inoculation— well, just made my heart leap! ;-)

How comforting to know this is merely a part of the process! A creative {and ever-so dear} friend encouraged me yesterday to see progress as a process, similar to canoeing down a river: Sometimes rapidly moving, other times walking the canoe, still others on the bank — gazing at the beauty of wildflowers.

Do something everyday that scares you. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

What are your doubts? Do you have a canoeing partner? What “scares” you?

Could you rein in your doubts and fears for just 5 minutes? 10 minutes? Why not give it a try?

Let’s do it together! I will post about my 10-minutes of {reined, creative} boldness tomorrow. And you check back here and share your experience. Okay?

Talk with you tomorrow! ;-)

I have done my “Scary-10″ this morning and will post about it this afternoon. I accomplished what I have been procrastinating {putting off, dreading} about!

Come on … Join me and let’s face what has been “scary” — those tasks that drain our energy as we put them off until “tomorrow” …

Post your “Scary-10″ here. What you faced, kicked butt about — for 10 minutes.

Too much? Then do a “Take-5″ and take five minutes to take back a patch of your day. And do only something that makes you smile. :-D
